Azerbaijani Karatekas Win 6 Medals at the European Championship

The European Karate Championship (WKF) among youth, held in Limassol, Republic of Cyprus, from February 6 to 8, 2026, has successfully concluded.
The national team of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation demonstrated strong performances at the prestigious European Championship, winning a total of six medals across various age groups and weight categories.
In the U18 category, Salman Salmanov won a bronze medal in kata. In kumite events, Cansu Ahmadzadeh (-66 kg) and Ravan Abasov (-61 kg) also claimed bronze medals. Competing in the -55 kg category, Vusal Ganbarov earned a silver medal. In the -68 kg category, Aladdin Malikoff defeated all his opponents to win the gold medal.
In the U21 category, Aslan Dostuyev secured a bronze medal in the -60 kg weight division.
During the championship, international referees of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation — Jahangir Babayev, Renad Aliyev, Vugar Karimov, Mais Madatov and Seymur Mammadov — officiated the matches with professionalism.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team participated in the championship under the leadership of AKF Secretary General Gabil Sayadov, U18 Head Coach Anar Allahverdiyev, U21 Head Coach Elnur Ibrahim, and Assistant Kata Coach Ismayil Guliyev.
